- Take out the kindergarten sight word list and start learning new words in upcoming units.
- Practice the number cards that were sent home so your child can fluently recite all numerals 1-30.
- Have your child illustrate a picture. Now ask them to "write a sentence about your picture". Have them read back their sentence to you.
- Say aloud some CVC words (consonant,vowel, consonant) words and have your child write down the sounds they hear in those words. Example: dog, mat, vet, mop, man Try to use all 5 of the vowels for added practice.
- Read, read, read. Have your child read a book to you that they can sound out MOST of the words. Even is a book is memorized, it helps your child become confident, making reading FUN!

Homework is done! Now what?
The kindergarten homework should take about 10 minutes each night to complete. In addition to the homework, we ask that you complete the "Reading Log", spending at least 10-15 minutes a night reading with your child. What else can you do to help your child make academic progress in kindergarten? Here are some suggestions:
